Cloudera Administrator

Overview

This role centers on effectively managing and maintaining the infrastructure that supports data management and analytics solutions on the Cloudera platform. The incumbent will ensure the system runs securely, remains stable, and operates at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and oversee various components of the Cloudera platform.
• Continuously monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement solutions promptly.
• Enforce security measures to safeguard the platform in line with regulatory standards.
• Maintain storage and backup mechanisms critical to platform stability.
• Ensure platform resiliency, availability, and establish recovery procedures.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline tasks and minimize manual operations.
• Manage network infrastructure alongside monitoring and logging frameworks.
• Collaborate across departments, including Development and Operations, to meet organizational goals.
• Regularly research and assess emerging technologies to enhance performance and scalability.
• Document procedures for installation, upgrades, and testing thoroughly.
• Maintain detailed documentation of platform architecture, including both low- and high-level designs and operational guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of four years' hands-on experience administering Hadoop and Cloudera environments.
• Proficient with Cloudera Manager, CDH/CDP, and tools within the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Strong Linux administration skills and familiarity with shell scripting.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Ambari, Nagios, and Splunk.
• Understanding of security integration protocols including LDAP, Kerberos, and TLS.
• Capability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and pipeline issues.

Education

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have between 3 and 5 years of relevant work experience.
