About the Role and Organization
This position is based at Brigham and Women's Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, a nonprofit health care system engaged in patient care, research, education, and community service. The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) role provides essential support within the Anesthesia Research Center (ARC), aiding in the facilitation and management of clinical studies related to anesthesiology. The CRC works collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure smooth recruitment, data collection, and study compliance under federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Screen and recruit patients for multiple clinical trials, including conducting telephone interviews.
- Collect, organize, and accurately enter patient and study data.
- Schedule patient visits and help perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and EKGs as needed.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining binders, monitoring documents, and assisting with regulatory submissions and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with research investigators and coordinators to optimize study protocols and implementation.
- Review study proposals to confirm adherence to sponsor and organizational policies.
- Document patient visits and maintain detailed records of research activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent relevant experience accepted.
- Some experience or exposure to clinical research projects preferred, ideally up to one year.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols carefully.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members.
- Proficiency with computers and research-related software.
- Understanding of clinical research protocols and ethical considerations related to patient rights.
Work Location and Schedule
The role is primarily onsite at 20 Shattuck Street, Greater Boston, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week and rotating shifts as necessary.
Compensation and Other Details
The hourly wage ranges from $21 to $29.01 depending on qualifications. This role does not involve direct patient care.
