Position Overview
The Yuba City Unified School District is seeking a part-time Child Development Assistant to support classroom activities in Preschool classroom 2 (PC# 148). This role is designed to assist in the development of young children and ensure a supportive learning environment.
Working Hours and Compensation
Working hours are from 12:12 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., totaling 3.8 hours daily, over 184 working days annually. The salary ranges from $19.08 to $23.22 per hour, with 5 incremental steps based on contractual terms; the maximum placement for experienced individuals is step 3.
Qualifications and Application Details
Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units. Preference is given to those holding an Assistant Preschool Teacher or Preschool Teacher California Credentialing Teacher Permit. The application process prioritizes internal lateral transfers during the first three days (June 4–8, 2026), with promotional or qualified internal applicants considered during the following five days (June 4–10, 2026). External candidates will be reviewed after all qualified internal candidates have been interviewed.
Applicants are required to submit their applications online, including a resume and two letters of recommendation, attached with the initial submission. Hard copies or emailed documents will not be accepted. The Human Resources department does not participate in application reviews or interviews. After closing, selected applicants will be contacted directly for interviews.
