Veterans Memorial Hospital is actively searching for a seasoned and visionary Chief Executive Officer to spearhead the next phase of growth and excellence for our independent Critical Access Hospital based in Waukon, IA. This key leadership position encompasses guiding a $60 million healthcare institution by providing strategic direction, operational management, and financial stewardship while nurturing strong partnerships with the Board of Trustees, medical staff, hospital employees, and the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the hospital's strategic vision and long-term objectives.
• Collaborate closely with the Board of Trustees to meet organizational milestones.
• Direct hospital operations and oversee financial health, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and sustainable growth.
• Cultivate a workplace environment emphasizing quality care, teamwork, accountability, and employee involvement.
• Foster meaningful relationships with physicians, community stakeholders, and other key partners.
• Act as the principal representative and spokesperson for Veterans Memorial Hospital.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline is mandatory; advanced degrees such as a master's are preferred.
• Demonstrated executive leadership experience within healthcare settings, preferably including hospital management roles.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, financial oversight, operational leadership, and nurturing physician relations.
• Outstanding leadership qualities, communication capabilities, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Critical Access Hospitals and rural healthcare challenges is highly valued.
