Job Overview

The Cashier position is vital in delivering excellent customer service by efficiently handling customer transactions including purchases and returns, ensuring accuracy and safety. Cashiers oversee the Self-Checkout area to maintain smooth operations and proactively gain product and project knowledge to assist customers and identify opportunities to promote sales.

Responsibilities

• Process checkout and return transactions swiftly and precisely.
• Maintain and supervise the Self-Checkout zone.
• Actively enhance product knowledge to inform customers and support product selling.
• Adhere strictly to company policies to minimize loss and shrinkage.
• Head Cashiers facilitate cashier positioning and support by expediting price verifications and approving transactions and markdowns on various registers and service counters including Self-Checkout, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Serve as a first point of escalation for customer concerns and issues.
• Assist in overseeing, training, and coaching Front End Associates, including onboarding new Cashiers and utilizing available training tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates for the Head Cashier role have at least one year of prior experience as a Cashier, demonstrating competence in customer service and operational support within a retail environment.
