Position Overview
Cashiers hold an essential role in customer service by delivering prompt, friendly, precise, and safe service at the point of sale. They handle checkout and return transactions and oversee the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently process checkout and returns with accuracy and speed.
- Supervise and maintain the Self-Checkout stations.
- Proactively acquire knowledge about products and projects to offer customers helpful information and identify opportunities to recommend products.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures to reduce shrinkage.
- For Head Cashiers: assign cashier duties, assist with price checks, approve point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Act as the first point of contact for escalated customer issues.
- Assist with the supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates, including new Cashiers.
- Utilize coaching tools to support the professional development of cashier staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of cashier experience is preferable for the Head Cashier position.
