Cargo Officer - Network Operations

Job Overview

The selected individual will join the Cargo Network Operations team to assist with load control challenges by supporting the planning and coordination of loads. This position ensures operational efficiency by overseeing load control procedures, flight documentation accuracy, and liaising among various parties to guarantee flights comply with schedules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in load planning processes and help resolve issues related to load control.
• Maintain precise records of flight documents and provide backup support during irregular operations or delays.
• Calculate aircraft weight and balance for both passenger and cargo flights and support preparation of load sheets and loading instruction reports.
• Verify cargo manifests and loading instructions while ensuring cargo is properly restrained and distributed.
• Handle special cargo loading with attention to correct orientation, adequate restraint, and compliance with restrictions, including live animals, perishables, and oversized items.
• Support load planning to optimize aircraft use, coordinate cargo transfers and connections, and adhere to specific loading criteria.
• Facilitate communication among flight crews, ground personnel, and operations control.
• Engage in comprehensive initial training on weight and balance, and Business Continuity Plans.
• Undertake aircraft-specific training modules, including dangerous goods handling, and keep certifications up to date.
• Monitor and follow up with stations for confirmation of acknowledgments and compliance with procedural updates.
• Prepare training documentation and coordinate schedules aligning with operational needs.
• Assist in developing standard procedures and training guides.
• Generate operational reports, format data for analysis, and archive delay databases using Excel.
• Manage system administration tasks ensuring clear documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
• Provide logistic support for A350F Entry Into Service activities and ongoing smart freighter operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma qualification in Logistics, Marketing, Business, or related field.
• Experience working in the air cargo sector, specifically with exposure to load control functions.
• Thorough understanding of load control operations.
• Proficiency in IT applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
• Strong analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to effectively influence and persuade various stakeholders.
