Role Objective

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in beer, wine, spirits, and related beverage sectors such as low/no alcohol and health-focused drinks.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with the New Zealand Roadmap for Growth strategy.
  • Target strategic accounts and market segments to expand business footprint.
  • Consistently meet or exceed defined annual sales and gross profit goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies for expanding business across targeted markets and verticals.
  • Prioritize core products like Groupage to maximize profit-making opportunities.
  • Manage assigned customer portfolios to enhance market share and growth.
  • Serve as the main commercial contact for customers, fostering trusted long-term relationships built on proactive engagement and solution-oriented sales.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service ensuring queries are addressed within 24 hours.
  • Fulfill weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales activities and key performance indicators, including pipeline status and hit ratios.

  • Regularly update and inform the Country Manager on market conditions and sales progress.
  • Coordinate with Hillebrand Gori and DHL Global Forwarding offices worldwide to support business operations.
  • Contribute actively in sales meetings, cross-departmental projects, and team development initiatives.
  • Embodies and promotes company values, encouraging a cooperative and supportive team culture.
  • Engage in proactive two-way communication to support overall business objectives.

Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years in business development or sales, ideally within freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain sectors.
  • Thorough knowledge of international shipping, logistics, and operational workflows.
  • Proficient in CRM systems for at least 2 to 3 years, with preference for Salesforce experience.
  • Strong negotiation, sales, and account management skills backed by commercial awareness of cost structures, margins, and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Competent in managing multiple priorities with sound organizational skills and deadline adherence.
