Business Analyst

Role Overview

MatchBox Consulting is urgently seeking a Business Analyst for a 17-month contract engagement with a public sector client located in New Westminster, British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct workshops with subject matter experts to document current and future business processes, including requirements for data and system integrations.
• Convert business requirements into clear solution specifications.
• Perform fit-gap analysis of existing systems and propose appropriate solutions.
• Evaluate the organization's current systems and those of its operating companies.
• Obtain stakeholder validation and sign-off on deliverables.
• Provide project status updates, prepare presentations, and contribute to project planning.
• Assist with Requests for Proposal (RFP) preparation, system configuration, testing strategy, deployment, and change management activities.

Deliverables

• Analysis documentation detailing current and future state processes.
• Requirements traceability matrix and fit-gap analysis reports.
• Pilot recommendation reports alongside comprehensive documentation supporting RFP, configuration, testing, deployment, and change management.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in business analysis or process improvement roles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Visio.
• Experience with SharePoint platform.
• Proven success with technology project implementation and gathering both functional and technical requirements.
• Familiarity with conducting technical feasibility studies and application roadmapping.
• Bachelor's degree complemented by formal training in business analysis or process improvement methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, verbal communication, and professional writing skills.

Preferred Background

• Experience working within policing or justice sector as a business analyst.
• Knowledge of digital evidence management systems or projects related to body-worn cameras.
• Understanding of government Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
• Certification such as CBAP or CCBA is advantageous.
