Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a Building Manager for our Kingston, Ontario location to manage daily building operations, ensuring maintenance, tenant satisfaction, and administrative tasks are handled efficiently. This full-time role includes a 40-hour workweek supplemented by weekend shifts and on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas and hallways.
- Prepare apartments for incoming tenants.
- Coordinate work orders and carry out minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Manage grounds upkeep.
- Respond effectively to tenant concerns and foster positive tenant relationships.
- Conduct apartment showings for prospective residents.
- Collect rents and manage associated records.
- Serve legal notices as required.
- Rent apartments and complete all necessary documentation.
- Ensure resident safety and timely emergency response.
- Maintain logs for fire safety and winter procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
- Keep accurate inventory and stock records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in maintenance or cleaning is desirable.
- Obtain company-sponsored First Aid certification.
- Capable of lifting items up to 20 kg (such as trash bags and cleaning equipment).
- Dependability, meticulousness, and commitment to safe work practices.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
