Bartender

Overview

Crest Hotel is hiring a bartender for its Prince Rupert, British Columbia location. This is a full-time position based at the property, and all work must be performed in person at the physical site.

Language

English is required.

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Applicants should have between 1 year and less than 2 years of relevant experience.

Role summary

The bartender will oversee lounge or bar operations, prepare and serve beverages and light food items, handle payments, maintain stock, support other service staff, and ensure compliance with liquor rules and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of a cocktail lounge or bar.
• Prepare short-order food and carry out basic food preparation tasks.
• Keep the bar clean and wash glassware.
• Serve snacks and light food items.
• Guide and supervise food and beverage servers and other team members.
• Suggest suitable drink options to customers.
• Train new and existing staff.
• Accept payment by cash, debit, credit card, or other approved methods for drinks served.
• Use the cash register and related point-of-sale tools.
• Track beverage sales and complete balancing records.
• Store beverages and food items properly.
• Place orders for bar supplies and manage inventory levels.
• Resolve customer complaints and concerns.
• Follow provincial or territorial liquor laws and regulations.
• Mix cocktails and prepare wine, draft or bottled beer, and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Take drink orders from service staff or directly from guests.
