Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer, you will architect and develop reliable data-centric software solutions addressing internal needs and client requirements. You will be instrumental in establishing development standards and facilitating top-quality software delivery within collaborative teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather software requirements, design, develop, and execute tests for applications
• Coordinate with QA teams and data scientists to optimize processes yielding superior product outcomes
• Diagnose and resolve application and service-related issues
• Detect bugs in microservices and recommend effective fixes
• Work closely with data scientists to embed equipment and process models into software services
• Implement engineering, mathematics, and computer science principles and best practices through software development
• Create and execute unit tests to ensure software components have comprehensive test coverage
• Produce and maintain thorough documentation for all software services and their dependencies

Requirements

• Proven software engineering experience focused on data systems
• Strong skills in Java and Node.js programming languages
• Proficiency with SQL and experience handling both relational and NoSQL databases
• Hands-on expertise with message queuing systems such as NATS or Pub/Sub
• Experience developing web services utilizing RESTful APIs and SOAP protocols
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker
• Excellent communication abilities with confidence in working across distributed teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or commensurate practical experience
• Fluency in both English and Arabic

Additional Skills (Bonus)

• Experience with Python programming language
