Associate Project Manager

Overview

We are seeking an Associate Project Manager to join our Operations team in Hamilton, New Zealand. In this role, you will collaborate closely with experienced managers to gain comprehensive knowledge of managing electricity transmission line construction and upgrade projects from start to finish. Reporting to the Delivery Manager – Projects, you will develop skills to oversee projects through scoping, planning, delivery, and completion phases, ensuring they are executed safely, punctually, and within budget.

Key Duties

• Lead projects end-to-end, including pricing, planning, delivery, and finalization
• Monitor financial aspects such as budgeting, invoicing, and performance reporting
• Liaise effectively with customers, contractors, field teams, and internal departments
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction throughout all project stages
• Assist with estimating, design, and planning activities as needed

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a valid, clean Class 1 driver’s licence
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
• Strong analytical skills combined with financial awareness
• Ability to confidently collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Demonstrated integrity, strong safety focus, and eagerness to learn
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is an advantage
