Team Overview

The EPIC Team (Enablement Platforms for Innovation and Change) within Technology & Operations spearheads strategy and transformation projects pivotal to BlackRock’s ETF expansion. This team connects various functions to develop superior ETF operating models, streamline processes, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and reduce complexity. Development of leadership and deep industry knowledge are key focuses.

Role Summary

This role offers the chance to understand the workings of the firm and its ETF ecosystem by collaborating across business, technology, product, and operational leaders. Unlike traditional change management positions focused on coordination, this role demands hands-on involvement in devising and implementing scalable change solutions involving processes, technology, and organizational shifts to support aggressive growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative ETF operating models, technology initiatives, and commercial opportunities.
• Collaborate across capital markets, investment management, ETF servicing, post-trade processing, technology, and core business services.
• Drive ETF platform changes internally and with external service providers, partnering with business stakeholders.
• Serve as the main platform specialist linking the ETF Ecosystem, ETF Solutions Platform, and Aladdin.
• Develop strategic and tactical solutions utilizing APIs and data from ETF and investment book of record.
• Work with leadership to shape the ETF platform strategy aimed at growth, scalability, and consistency.
• Set project goals with measurable KPIs, manage consensus, and report progress to stakeholders.
• Plan and execute complex multi-tiered testing strategies to enable change delivery.
• Promote a unified, firm-wide perspective to achieve impactful business outcomes.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to overall team growth.
• Simplify complex challenges by creating innovative, practical solutions.
• Actively engage with stakeholders across the global organization to effectively drive initiatives.

Candidate Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years in financial services or related industries with demonstrated success in leading impactful strategic change initiatives involving executive-level engagement.
• Experience with ETF operations, client servicing, fund accounting, and custody/banking practices.
• Strong ability to define broad business needs and communicate effectively within teams.
• Expertise in platform design and system integration.
• Proficient in managing projects distributed across multiple regions and time zones.
• Proven leadership skills with a history of successful personnel management.
• Deep knowledge of investment management products including ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments.
• Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments with strong communication skills.
• Highly detail-oriented, results-driven, and intellectually curious individual capable of managing multiple complex projects.
• Technical proficiency including understanding technology’s role in scaling operations and capability to collaborate with business, product, and engineering teams.
• Skilled in analyzing data, identifying problems, and proposing effective solutions.
• Fluency in Japanese or Mandarin is a significant advantage to engage regional external stakeholders.
• Experience or interest in data analytics using Python, SQL, APIs, and Power BI is preferred.
