Job Overview
The Associate Engineer in Product Design will be part of the Global Solutions Engineering Group located in New Market, VA. This role involves evaluating customer tool requests and devising tooling concepts for custom engineered solutions involving metal cutting drills and steel products used in turning and milling. The engineer will produce final quotations for these tooling requests and collaborate both independently and within diverse teams, including Sales, Application Engineers, Customers, Material Sciences, and Manufacturing divisions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferably a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience in a similar engineering role is favored.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications effectively.
- Familiarity with Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- A solid grasp of advanced math and close tolerance manufacturing techniques such as pressing, sintering, grinding, milling, and turning.
- Experience with 3D modeling or CAD/CAM software is advantageous.
- Understanding of machining processes and carbide cutting tools is a plus.
