About the Role
Singapore University of Technology and Design is hiring an experienced Assistant Director to oversee the day-to-day running, governance, administration, mentoring, and promotion of its Innovation PG portfolio. The post covers the Master of Science in Innovation (AI) as well as the PhD by Innovation route.
The role involves close collaboration with faculty members, government bodies, industry partners, and postgraduate learners. Core responsibilities include programme operations, admissions supervision, bootcamp coordination, Mission Bank administration, mentor network coordination, scholarship planning, partnership management, regulatory reporting, marketing and recruitment, assessment administration, outreach, and student support.
Programme Operations and Student Journey
You will provide functional leadership for programme operations and admissions across all cohorts. This includes managing the programme timeline, gate reviews, student progression, and graduation-related activities, while tracking the full postgraduate journey from entry to completion.
Bootcamp planning across three terms will also be part of the role, covering venues, instructors, learning materials, residency arrangements, and OBS logistics.
Mission Bank, Partnerships and Mentor Network
The position requires oversight of the Mission Bank process, including receiving corporate problem statements, reviewing and tagging them, matching them to student teams, and maintaining relationships with external partners.
You will also recruit and coordinate the Innovation Guild Mentor network of industry practitioners, helping strengthen programme engagement and long-term growth. In addition, you will support memoranda of understanding and other partnership arrangements connected to the Innovation PG programmes.
Postgraduate Mentoring
Beyond administration, the role includes providing guidance and advisory support to postgraduate students alongside faculty supervision. This covers help with institutional procedures, academic milestones, and opportunities for professional development, while contributing to a supportive learning environment.
Government Reporting and Institutional Compliance
You will lead employment surveys and statutory submissions tied to postgraduate programmes, and serve as a point of contact for government agencies on regulatory and postgraduate matters. The role also involves preparing ministry course submission materials and supporting internal reporting and planning.
Scholarships and Financial Planning
Responsibilities include scholarship planning, projections, and reporting, along with coordination of postgraduate funding matters with relevant stakeholders.
Marketing, Outreach and Recruitment
You will help drive marketing and recruitment efforts through digital and community-based channels, take part in outreach activities, and represent Innovation PG at matriculation sessions, townhalls, and other postgraduate engagement events.
Assessment and Quality Assurance
The role includes administration of the multi-part assessment structure, coordination of dual-panel reviews, integration of PhD by Innovation candidates, and cross-pillar billing. You will also manage external quality assurance audits and keep assessment records securely archived.
What We Are Looking For
The university is looking for someone with relevant training and experience, ideally with a background in higher education administration and preferably in postgraduate or innovation-oriented programmes. Experience dealing with government agencies on regulatory or funding matters would be an advantage. Research experience or a postgraduate qualification would further strengthen the profile, particularly for working effectively with postgraduate learners and academic staff.
Strong stakeholder management, clear communication, and the ability to handle complex, multi-step, policy-led processes are important. Experience in industry partnership development or corporate engagement is also valuable. The role requires confidence using digital tools such as CRM systems, Google Workspace, marketing automation tools, and basic data dashboards, along with a high degree of independence, sound judgement, and strong organisational ability.
