Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Field Applications Engineer specializing in telemetry to join our international aerospace technology company. This role offers a permanent position with an established firm, an evolving environment, and long-term growth opportunities coupled with competitive pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot telemetry antenna, receiver, and processing systems at customer locations such as test ranges, facilities, and ground stations.
• Act as the main technical liaison supporting integration of JDA's systems into multi-vendor environments including antennas, receivers, decommutators, and third-party tools.
• Perform diagnostics and problem-solving on RF signal chains, software, and firmware issues both on-site and remotely with support teams.
• Contribute to new product development by identifying use cases, target system architectures, and defining system boundaries.
• Develop clear system requirements and acceptance criteria informed by client needs, signal types, frequency bands, protocols, and industry standards.
• Lead and coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT) and customer acceptance tests (SAT), documenting results and generating technical reports.
• Provide training for customer personnel regarding system operation and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and project management teams to incorporate field insights into product improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical, Communications, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
• Multiple years of professional experience in telemetry, RF or communications engineering, avionics, with a background in on-site customer deployment preferred.
• Practical experience working with RF signal chains, antennas, or telemetry ground stations is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of aerospace and defense system architectures, testing environments, and regulatory standards.
• Willingness to travel extensively (around 70%), including internationally.
• Fluency in German and English, both spoken and written.
• Preparedness to obtain a security clearance depending on project requirements.
