Aircraft Mechanic A&P for UC-35 Citation at Qatar - Al Udeid

Overview

This role involves maintaining and servicing the UC-35 Cessna Citation aircraft, encompassing a variety of systems including aircraft structure, landing gear, flight controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, auxiliary power unit, ventilation and heating systems. The aircraft mechanic will troubleshoot malfunctions and execute repairs or replacements to ensure optimal aircraft operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct operational checks on repaired or modified aircraft systems to verify proper functioning.
• Execute quality maintenance in compliance with federal aviation regulations, manufacturer guidelines, or military technical instructions.
• Repair and replace structural components like wings and fuselage, along with rigging, surface controls, hydraulic and plumbing units using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and specifications to determine repair or replacement procedures.
• Inspect engines for oil leaks and diagnose issues by listening and testing engine operation using diagnostic equipment.
• Examine turbine blades for damage and test engine performance to identify malfunctions.
• Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reinstall engines and their components as required.
• Perform varied servicing duties such as flushing crankcases, cleaning screens, lubricating parts, and brake checks.
• Support line maintenance operations with repairs short of overhauls to maintain aircraft safety.
• May specialize in structural, precision, functional spare parts repair, or engine repair.
• Undertake other qualified duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of aircraft subsystems including maintenance parameters, systems operations, and technical directives.
• Capability to qualify and perform engine run-ups specific to assigned aircraft types.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documentation.
• Effective communication skills across hierarchical levels within the organization.
• Proven adaptability and responsiveness to dynamic operational environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
• Compliance with FAA regulations for maintenance personnel on FAA-certified aircraft.
• Recent (within the last 12 months) full-time aviation maintenance experience on the specified aircraft.
• Minimum of three years aircraft mechanic experience with assigned aircraft; five years preferred.
• At least six months experience in flight line, overhaul, and inspection.
• Preferred formal maintenance training specific to the assigned aircraft.
• Training completion via US Government armed forces aircraft mechanic maintenance course or equivalent civilian program.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Tools are supplied by the employer.

Security Clearance

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a United States Government Department of the Army Secret Security Clearance.
• Facility credentials and authorization required for work access; US citizenship mandatory due to clearance requirements.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods over varied surfaces, climb ladders and ramps.
• Capacity for physical activities including crouching, crawling, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and reaching.
• Visual acuity to detect small objects, imperfections, and read instruments accurately.
• Able to type, communicate verbally, and distinguish colors and 3D depth.
• Operation of vehicles and machinery including forklifts and support equipment may be necessary.
• Capable of working in potentially hostile, austere, or extreme environmental conditions with exposure to loud noise and airborne particles.
• Must possess minimum near and far vision standards (20/100 correctable to 20/20).
• Availability for international travel to remote and challenging locations.
