Job Overview
As an Accountant reporting to the Assistant Director/Deputy Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the NTUC accounts and associated funds. Your role involves assessing financial policies and procedures, conducting variance analyses, and compiling management reports to support organizational financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile financial statements, prepare budgets, forecasts, and analyze variances.
- Ensure punctual and precise month-end closures and financial reports.
- Generate project utilization reports and manage fund drawdowns for government-funded programs and activities.
- Administer and monitor cash flow activities.
- Engage in hands-on operational finance duties.
- Contribute to system planning initiatives and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Complete and file necessary documents with government agencies.
- Evaluate staff claims and transportation reimbursements.
- Review and enhance financial procedures and policies, focusing on billing, payments, and other financial processes to achieve better efficiency while maintaining internal controls.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments on finance-related issues.
- Issue tax-exempt receipts for donated and contributed funds.
- Prepare tax computations and file tax returns accordingly.
- Coordinate with both internal and external auditors on financial matters.
- Undertake other assignments as directed by the Director of Finance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a degree in Accountancy or an equivalent qualification; Chartered Accountant certification is preferred.
- Hold at least three years of pertinent experience, ideally including audit exposure or finance process enhancements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP S/4 HANA considered an advantage.
- Strong command of Financial Reporting Standards and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and communication capabilities.
- Capable of effectively liaising with management and staff at all tiers.
- Maintain a committed, diligent, and precise working approach.
