Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accountant to become part of our finance team based in Qatar. The ideal candidate will oversee accounts receivable, maintain financial records, handle customer reconciliations, and contribute to daily accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor customer accounts and outstanding payments.
• Engage with customers to ensure prompt payment collections.
• Create and distribute account statements and payment reminders regularly.
• Conduct reconciliations involving customers, banks, ledgers, and accounts.
• Generate accounts receivable ageing reports and update on collection statuses.
• Record daily financial transactions accurately within the accounting system.
• Address issues related to billing errors, payment allocation, and customer inquiries.
• Assist in preparing invoices, credit notes, receipts, and accounting journal entries.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to maintain precise customer account data.
• Support month-end financial closing, reporting, and auditing processes.
• Maintain organized documentation and filing for all financial records.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company accounting policies.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or equivalent field.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, with specific focus on accounts receivable and collections.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Hands-on experience using ERP or accounting software platforms.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, reconciliations, and reporting functions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and strict confidentiality.
• Capability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Applicants currently residing in Qatar preferred.
• Holding a transferable visa and No Objection Certificate (NOC) is advantageous.
• Experience in retail, distribution, e-commerce, or trading sectors is a plus.
• Immediate or short-notice availability will be regarded favorably.
