Accountant

About the Role

Sunshott Media Private Limited is seeking a dedicated full-time Accountant to oversee daily financial operations and assist the company’s growth. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) accounting, especially in e-commerce and retail settings. This includes expertise in order-level reconciliation, marketplace payouts, settlements for COD and prepaid transactions, GST management for online sales, and cost tracking linked to inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily bookkeeping, ledgers, and financial documentation.
• Reconcile payments from various payment gateways and marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, and Shopify, including cash on delivery collections.
• Ensure timely GST filings, TDS compliance, and other statutory obligations.
• Generate monthly financial statements such as Profit & Loss accounts, cash flow reports, and expense summaries.
• Monitor inventory costs and collaborate with operations to ensure accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations.
• Manage accounts payable procedures including vendor invoicing and payment follow-ups.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and implementing cost-control measures.
• Coordinate with Chartered Accountants and auditors for tax preparations and yearly audits.

Candidate Qualifications

• Must have prior experience in accounting within a D2C or e-commerce business.
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance; B.Com or M.Com preferred.
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance norms.
• Proficient in Tally accounting software.
• Good skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Attentive to detail and capable of working independently.
• Experience range: 1 to 4 years; salary commensurate with experience.
