Warehouse Operative

Role Overview

Avara Foods is hiring a Warehouse Operative for its Brackley site in Northamptonshire. The role sits within a busy, fast-moving food manufacturing setting where hygiene, accuracy, and temperature control are important. The environment can be noisy and some areas are refrigerated.

What You’ll Do

• Stack, wrap, and prepare products correctly for storage and dispatch.
• Use the warehouse management system to move product into stock and attach the right pallet labels.
• Pick and scan customer orders through the WMS, making sure the correct product and use-by date match the customer specification.
• Measure and record product temperatures to confirm they stay within the required range.
• Check orders before loading vehicles using the WMS to ensure dispatch accuracy.
• Scan goods onto vehicles and load them in the correct sequence.
• Receive returned items, review the accompanying paperwork, and communicate the reason for return as needed.
• Carry out stocktake scanning when required.
• Work closely with colleagues in dispatch and production to keep operations running smoothly.

What You Need

• Comfortable written and spoken English and basic numeracy.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate clearly.
• Strong attention to detail with a flexible approach to tasks.
• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is helpful, but not essential because full training will be provided.

Pay and Benefits

• Hourly pay of £15.15, plus a £2.00 shift allowance for hours worked between 18:00 and 06:00.

Working Pattern

Week 1: Monday 13:30 - 22:00, Tuesday 13:45 - 22:00, Wednesday 13:45 - 22:00, Thursday 13:45 - 22:00, Friday 15:15 - 01:30.

Week 2: Sunday 13:00 - 19:45, Monday 10:00 - 22:00, Tuesday 13:45 - 22:00, Wednesday 13:45 - 22:00, Thursday 13:45 - 22:00.
