Role overview
This opportunity is for a senior operations leader with a strong background in private equity-backed businesses, especially within home services. The work centers on helping acquired, often family-run companies transition smoothly into a larger platform, establishing trust, introducing structure, and improving performance after acquisition.
The firm partners with leadership teams at PE-backed home services platforms that are buying, integrating, and expanding multiple brands and locations. The need is for experienced Vice Presidents and Directors of Operations who can lead across a multi-site, multi-trade environment and help drive growth at scale.
What the role involves
- Taking ownership at a group level across roughly 10 to 40+ operating businesses.
- Leading post-acquisition integration so newly acquired companies adopt group systems, standards, and culture.
- Owning KPIs, reviewing P&L performance, and creating consistency across brands and locations.
- Working in the field with substantial travel; this is not a desk-based position.
- Partnering directly with PE sponsors, CEOs, and CFOs on performance improvement and growth plans.
Candidate background
The profile that fits best is someone who has already operated inside a PE-backed platform, rather than only a single standalone business. You should understand how scaling a business differs from simply running one day to day.
Experience handling distressed assets, post-deal cultural misalignment, and the challenge of integrating former owner-operators into a group structure is especially relevant. Backgrounds across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pest control, landscaping, restoration, fire and security, or similar field/home services trades can be a strong match.
The ideal candidate is energized by building things in earlier-stage platforms and is comfortable in environments where equity participation is part of the long-term opportunity.
Compensation
Base pay is typically in the range of $180,000 to $220,000, with a performance bonus linked to P&L results and possible equity participation depending on the maturity of the platform.
