Role Overview

Join the Radiology Department at UPMC Aut Even Hospital, providing ultrasound services for both inpatient and outpatient care. This permanent position involves delivering high-quality ultrasound examinations in line with established professional standards, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure top-quality service delivery encompassing both technical performance and patient care.
• Manage patient care using evidence-based approaches and comprehensive care planning to maintain professional standards.
• Work closely with Radiology Service Managers, Consultant Radiologists, and team members to guarantee efficient departmental operations.
• Report any operational challenges to Radiography Services Managers promptly.
• Contribute to the development and monitoring of service plans and maintain precise clinical data systems according to hospital protocols.
• Utilize the PACS/RIS system effectively, including voice recognition and speech report authorization, to support workflow.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints, accidents, and incidents in line with hospital policies.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant compliance standards such as HIQA, EPA, and JCI applicable to this role.

Professional Development and Standards

• Continuously update and enhance clinical knowledge, skills, and competencies to adapt to evolving patient needs, service expansions, and legal requirements.
• Participate actively in formal and informal training and self-directed learning opportunities.
• Offer peer support when applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Radiography or a Diploma from the College of Radiographers.
• Registration with the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU is mandatory.
• Minimum of six years full-time clinical experience post-qualification.
• Holds an MSc in Ultrasound recognised by the Irish Institute of Radiography and Radiation Therapy (IIRRT).

Personal Competencies

• Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and managerial aptitude necessary to fulfill role responsibilities effectively.
• Capable of performing comprehensive ultrasound scans and preparing accurate provisional reports consistent with radiologist findings and meeting standards for private clinic services.
