Role Overview
OpenAI is expanding a robust supplier and third-party risk program to support growth across hardware, infrastructure, and important partner networks. This Singapore-based position will own third-party risk management execution across Asia-Pacific, with particular depth in electronics and device manufacturing supply chains as well as supplier compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the full third-party risk management workflow across APAC, including consistent, scalable processes for assessing, onboarding, and monitoring external partners.
- Assist with audits, regulatory obligations, and adherence to internal policies across supplier and third-party relationships.
- Support supplier compliance work aligned to recognized industry expectations such as RBA, including areas like labor practices, ethics, and management systems.
- Work closely with Procurement, Legal/Compliance, Security, Privacy, and other business functions to build risk controls into onboarding, contracts, and ongoing supplier oversight.
- Create and manage supplier risk frameworks designed for electronics and device manufacturing settings.
- Lead supplier due diligence covering operational, regulatory, and compliance-related risks.
- Define, monitor, and report on KRIs and governance processes for regional leadership.
- Spot and reduce risks affecting key suppliers, including geopolitical, operational, and compliance exposures.
- Improve TPRM tools, controls, and operating processes to increase scale and efficiency.
- Handle supplier-related incident response, such as compliance issues or operational interruptions, and help drive timely resolution.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in supplier risk, third-party risk management, supply chain risk, supplier compliance or auditing, or a closely related area.
- Hands-on experience in complex electronics or device manufacturing ecosystems, including contract manufacturing, component networks, and multi-tier supply chains.
- Proven ability to conduct onsite audits and push remediation through to completion, rather than only identifying issues in policy.
- Experience working with Asia-based suppliers or operating within APAC markets.
- Strong understanding of privacy, cyber risk, data security, operational resilience, and financial or vendor risk concepts.
- Ability to analyze risk data, identify patterns, and turn findings into clear, actionable reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex risk topics for decision-makers.
- Business-level Mandarin is mandatory because the role regularly handles vendor communication and documentation with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
- Exposure to export controls or sanctions, forced labor risk programs, and supplier ownership or beneficial ownership due diligence is a plus.
- Experience performing or supporting onsite factory or supplier audits is preferred.
- Background in hardware lifecycle risks such as NPI, production ramp, and supplier quality issues is helpful.
- Experience rolling out GRC/TPRM tools such as OneTrust, Archer, or ServiceNow GRC, including workflow automation, is an advantage.
- Familiarity with RBA programs and/or validated assessment methods is beneficial.
Location and Travel
This role is based in Singapore and requires 30% to 40% travel within Asia to visit supplier sites.
