Role Overview
The Territory Manager position involves actively seeking new business opportunities while delivering superior customer service. This role requires extensive cold calling to engage potential clients, supported by an efficient, proprietary sales management tool that replaces traditional manual tracking methods. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of our service products and confidently present our advantages to prospective clients. By employing a consultative selling strategy, you will align client needs with Waste Connections' solutions to establish long-lasting partnerships.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify and generate new sales prospects within Nanaimo, BC, and neighboring areas.
- Record gathered data into the ARES system to facilitate future client interactions.
- Collaborate with operational and administrative teams effectively, while maintaining the ability to work autonomously.
- Conduct outreach through cold calls, networking, and other methods to produce sales leads.
- Promptly respond to customer questions and concerns, ensuring a positive service experience.
- Attend client meetings, industry events, and conferences as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years experience in business-to-business sales.
- Experience with contract-based selling is considered an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and excellent time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as ARES or Salesforce is a plus.
- Access to a personal vehicle is necessary for client visits and prospecting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive earnings with a base salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 annually plus commission opportunities, targeting total earnings exceeding $100,000.
