This role offers a unique chance to innovate foundational optical technologies and work alongside top-tier engineers tackling complex scaling challenges.
Role Summary
The Supply Chain Planning Manager will oversee comprehensive supply chain operations for volume production, ensuring that materials, capacity, and inventory align perfectly with production schedules and ramp-up demands. Responsibilities include material requirements planning (MRP), contract manufacturer build plan oversight, inventory management, and supplier risk mitigation to sustain reliable production scaling.
Key Duties
- Convert production forecasts and build plans into precise MRP, procurement schedules, and supplier agreements.
- Continuously analyze and manage inventory, safety stock levels, and material utilization to balance waste reduction with uninterrupted production.
- Drive supply chain readiness and coordination across contract manufacturing partners for efficient production builds.
- Synchronize production schedules, material readiness, and logistics with contract manufacturers and suppliers supporting ongoing volumes.
- Implement support for engineering change controls during production-design revisions to maintain supply plan alignment.
- Oversee transitions from new product introduction (NPI) and pilot phases into full production ramps in close collaboration with related teams.
- Formulate and manage production build plans reflecting demand and business priorities at contract manufacturers.
- Track supplier lead times, capacity limits, and delivery commitments to handle production volume needs.
- Partner with procurement to ensure continuous material supply and manufacturing capacity as volumes grow.
- Spot potential material shortages, supply interruptions, or single-source risks that may threaten production continuity.
- Maintain transparency of key component paths and long-lead items supply across the production supply base.
- Monitor critical supply chain KPIs such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and on-time delivery for production materials.
- Communicate regular updates on production supply status and risks to cross-functional leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain planning, material planning, or MRP execution, preferably within electronics, semiconductors, or hardware manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated success in managing material and supply plans across multiple sites and regions while collaborating with suppliers and contract manufacturers to meet production schedules.
- Practical knowledge of ERP or MRP software such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, coupled with strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Exceptional analytical skills, forecasting ability, and adeptness in managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with inventory optimization strategies is a valuable advantage.
