About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join a leading aerospace manufacturing company located in North Hollywood, California. This full-time, onsite role operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The position offers an annual salary range between $140,000 and $160,000 plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
The company focuses on crafting precision-engineered aerospace products with a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement. The Supply Chain Manager will play a critical role in supporting operational excellence and ensuring timely delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and mentor a team of five professionals in Planning, Estimating, and Purchasing, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer demands.
- Lead initiatives to identify, qualify, onboard, and develop suppliers, expanding the approved supplier network.
- Drive transformation projects aimed at enhancing scalability, planning effectiveness, and organizational maturity within the supply chain.
- Utilize the ERP system as the central resource for managing planning, procurement, inventory, and production scheduling.
- Formulate and execute inventory management strategies balancing service levels, working capital, and production needs.
- Set department objectives, track performance metrics, and enforce accountability throughout the supply chain function.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing management to synchronize production priorities, material availability, and capacity planning.
- Expand supplier networks through active sourcing and implement dual-source strategies.
- Partner with Quality teams to enhance supplier quality and address corrective actions effectively.
- Develop supplier and outside-processing capacity to meet projected growth requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Allocate resources effectively and prioritize tasks in response to dynamic business needs and production schedules.
- Maintain accuracy of planning data including lead times, bills of material, routings, safety stock levels, and purchasing parameters.
- Oversee procurement of raw materials and outside processing services ensuring supplier reliability and cost efficiency.
- Create and monitor supplier performance scorecards focusing on on-time delivery and quality standards.
- Negotiate pricing, long-term supply contracts, and strategic partnerships aligning with business objectives.
- Coordinate sourcing and supplier capacity planning to meet forecasted demand and customer commitments.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to material availability, supplier capacity, lead times, and external market conditions.
- Manage Material Requirements Planning activities and apply corrective measures to shortages, excess inventory, and discrepancies.
- Track and report key performance indicators such as On-Time Delivery, Supplier Delivery, Inventory Turns, MRP Accuracy, Purchase Price Variance, and Material Availability.
- Present supply chain performance updates and improvement plans to senior leadership.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 7 years of supply chain management experience, preferably within the aerospace sector.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in supplier qualification and performance improvement.
- Experience managing planning, estimating, and purchasing teams.
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with CNC machining processes.
- Proficient in manufacturing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Capability to work in a manufacturing environment subject to noise, dust, temperature changes, and physical activity including standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline, knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, and experience with JobBoss² software.
Additional Requirements and Information
- This role requires U.S. person status or eligibility to obtain export authorizations per International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Compliance with AS9100D quality management standards applicable to departmental responsibilities is mandatory for all employees.
