Role Overview

As a Student Mentor, you will provide assistance and guidance to OffSec students via live chat, email support, and exam grading in line with your certified qualifications. Your responsibilities may extend to facilitating course delivery (on-site, online, or remote), testing vulnerable machines, creating wiki content, resolving network issues, and engaging in software development activities. This full-time role requires shift work spanning evenings and weekends, with 24/7 coverage demands and the flexibility to work across different time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and collaborate with students through community platforms, live chat, and email.
  • Conduct live webinars or streaming sessions including demonstrations and walkthroughs on cybersecurity topics.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, course review, lab machine testing, and tool implementation.
  • Grade exams based on your certification expertise.
  • Test, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot lab systems and machines.
  • Develop and maintain departmental documentation, processes, and guidelines.
  • Manage timely completion of daily tasks and ongoing student support.
  • Review and approve accommodation requests with proper record keeping.
  • Assist cross-functional teams as required and remain flexible to shift schedules.
  • Potential international travel to client sites or conferences without restrictions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Required: OSCP certification.
  • 3+ years of diverse IT experience, including 2 years managing server technologies, plus Linux and Windows troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong cybersecurity mindset conducive to innovative problem-solving.
  • Fluency in English for reading, writing, and communication.
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking setup and cybersecurity defense frameworks (SOC, IR, TH, MITRE D3FEND, NICE) is advantageous.
  • Customer service orientation driven by data to improve experience and engagement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and investigative capabilities.
  • Self-motivated to work independently under pressure and deadlines.
  • Remote teamwork collaboration skills.

Desired Attributes

  • Prior experience in teaching or mentoring.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, Windows operating systems, storage, and backup technologies.
  • Experience working remotely and familiarity with customer service ticketing systems.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote with required shift availability between 05:00 and 13:00 GMT.
