Role Overview

The Strategy & Operations Lead is a pivotal role directly reporting to the CEO, ideal for early career professionals who are highly organized, intellectually engaged, and eager to manage substantial responsibilities. This position commands ownership of strategic and operational initiatives across the company, including investor relations, board management, and internal company processes. The role demands flexibility and accountability as responsibilities evolve with the company’s needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and refine presentations, data rooms, and Q&A materials for investors and board members in partnership with the CEO and leadership team.
• Manage investor relations processes end-to-end, including pipeline tracking, milestone monitoring, and timely follow-up.
• Take leadership of high-impact cross-functional projects such as market research and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with the CEO to shape strategic thinking and translate plans into actionable steps.
• Coordinate preparation, agenda setting, and distribution of board meeting materials, ensuring smooth governance operations.
• Monitor and follow up on decisions and action items from board and leadership meetings.
• Organize the company’s internal meeting cadence, maintaining various forums like All Hands and leadership reviews.
• Develop and uphold processes and documentation to optimize operational efficiency in a rapidly growing environment.
• Assist People Operations in recruitment coordination and onboarding processes.

Candidate Profile

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in operational roles within startups, venture capital, consulting, or investment banking.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly in both spoken and written English; German language skills are advantageous.
• A strong sense of ownership and initiative, proactively resolving issues without waiting for direction.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain perspective on broader objectives.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and proactively maintaining project momentum.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with comfort in quantitative analysis and basic financial modeling.
• Interest in deep technology and the future of material sciences.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Experience in industrial biotechnology, materials science, or in the performance chemicals sector.
• Previous involvement in fundraising or managing investor relationships.
