Store Driver

Job Overview

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Store Driver to efficiently pick, stage, and deliver parts to professional customers while supporting the store's daily operations. This role involves maintaining relationships with customers, ensuring accurate deliveries, and assisting with sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare parts orders and ensure safe delivery to professional customers.
• Handle returns and core part pickups.
• Distribute sales flyers regularly, promoting ongoing sales and loyalty programs.
• Manage daily collection from credit accounts.
• Build and sustain customer relations with MainStreet and National Pro customers, sharing insights gained during deliveries.
• Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to boost average sales transactions.
• Keep the store and surrounding areas clean, including floors, bathrooms, product facing, dusting, and parking lot maintenance.
• Manage stock including truck loading, back stock organizing, and cycle counting.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inventory and new product arrivals to assist customers effectively.
• Engage walk-in customers by understanding their needs and suggesting suitable parts or services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Fluent English communication in speaking and writing; Spanish skills are advantageous.
• Capability to interpret safety guidelines, operation and maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, and procedure documents.
• Basic math proficiency to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends as required.
• Confidence to engage customers actively and promote products.
• Motivation to learn about new products and sales techniques continually.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in automotive parts is beneficial.

Education and Certifications

• Completion of high school or an equivalent qualification.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Requirements

The job demands mostly walking or standing. Employees must be able to hear, talk, use hands and fingers for handling or feeling, as well as climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl when needed. Regular lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional assisted lifting of up to 100 pounds is expected. Visual capabilities include close vision, distance vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Work is predominantly indoors with occasional exposure to outdoor weather during tasks like installing batteries or wiper blades. Employees may occasionally encounter moving mechanical parts, elevated places, hazardous chemicals, electrical risks, explosives, and vibrations. The noise level is generally moderate.
