Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Stockperson/Cartpusher offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your experience in the retail sector. This role involves gathering shopping carts from various store locations such as cart corrals, parking areas, and store perimeters, and safely returning them to designated storage using approved methods, all while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers by retrieving shopping carts from outside and inside store areas, following Walmart's procedures, and ensuring required documentation is completed accurately.
- Respond swiftly to requests at checkout counters, help customers with carrying items in or out, and confirm proof of purchase by verifying receipts.
- Perform periodic cleaning and maintenance tasks including restroom upkeep, correctly handling cleaning chemicals, completing inspection reports, and operating power equipment safely.
- Comply strictly with safety and emergency protocols, including managing hazardous materials, lockout/tagout procedures, and bloodborne pathogens handling.
- Maintain the Cart Retrieval Log at the Customer Service Desk to track cart collections.
- Contribute to a safe and hazard-free workplace by adhering to company policies and safety procedures.
- Promote safety by wearing mandated personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes and reflective vests during cart collection duties.
- Carry out safety sweeps as directed.
Compensation
The starting pay rate for this position is $17.75 per hour.
