About Minor Hotels and Job Location
The position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara. Minor Hotels is a global hotel owner, operator, and investor managing a portfolio of over 530 properties across more than 50 countries, including Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America. Role Summary
The Steward role is vital in maintaining superior cleanliness and hygiene within all kitchen areas, including utensils, tableware, and cooking equipment. This position supports the efficient operation of kitchens and food & beverage outlets by ensuring a well-organized, safe, and sanitary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect all kitchen tools, equipment, pots, and pans meticulously.
- Maintain neatness and cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations consistently.
- Collect and properly dispose of garbage and recycling materials from assigned areas.
- Operate dishwashing machinery efficiently and ensure its proper functioning.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning agents and chemicals; inform management about shortages promptly.
- Support kitchen and service teams by assisting with setup and dismantling of buffets and banquets.
- Adhere strictly to hotel safety and sanitation protocols, including correct handling of chemicals.
- Sort, organize, and store cleaned dishes appropriately.
- Handle all kitchen equipment with care to prevent damage or breakage.
- Carry out scheduled intensive cleaning tasks, such as oven and grease trap cleaning.
Candidate Qualifications and Attributes
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Experience working as a steward or dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant environment is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and hygiene standards is required.
- Physical capability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods is essential.
- A cooperative team player with a positive mindset and effective communication skills.
