Role overview
This Steward position is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and is centered on keeping kitchen and dining operations clean, organized, and efficient. The role supports smooth meal service and helps maintain a high standard of guest experience by ensuring all back-of-house areas remain sanitary and well managed.
Key duties
- Check, clean, and store kitchen tools, equipment, tableware, and utensils correctly.
- Run and maintain dishwashing equipment while keeping water temperature and chemical dosage within the correct range.
- Track cleaning materials and refill supplies whenever stock runs low.
- Handle waste segregation, disposal, and recycling processes properly.
- Work closely with kitchen teammates to keep service flowing efficiently during meals.
- Keep work zones, including floors, walls, and storage areas, clean and orderly.
- Help monitor inventory for kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety rules.
- Take part in ongoing training to stay current on best practices and procedures.
- Provide support to other departments when demand is high.
Candidate profile
- Primary school education is required at minimum.
- At least 1 year of related experience, including experience in a similar stewarding role.
- Solid understanding of routine kitchen operations and standard kitchen practices.
- Ability to complete repetitive work carefully and consistently.
- Good physical endurance and the ability to remain on your feet for long periods.
- Strong personal hygiene habits and knowledge of cleanliness expectations.
- Basic numeracy skills for preparing cleaning solutions accurately.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving setting.
- Flexible enough to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Able to communicate clearly and cooperate well with others.
- Service-oriented attitude with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Open to learning new methods and adapting to updated tools or processes.
