Job Overview

As a Specialist in Distribution Center operations, you will oversee executing DC functions while managing costs, capacity expansion, operational efficiency, and compliance. Your role involves coordinating closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring operational excellence, and driving continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage DC operations ensuring expenses align with approved OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
• Control cost factors related to pallets, logistics, workforce, and fleet utilization.
• Collaborate with Commercial & Procurement (C&P) and Operations Excellence teams to enhance cost-to-serve within DC operations.
• Optimize scheduling between DC and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) to boost cost efficiency and service quality.
• Monitor 3PL vendors to ensure compliance with commercial agreements, SLAs, and manage penalty frameworks.
• Lead the execution of DC expansions and capacity increases according to approved capital expenditure plans.
• Improve last-mile delivery through effective route planning optimizations.
• Advance productivity in picking, loading, dispatching, and transfer processes.
• Execute transport network plans tailored locally for feasibility and regulatory compliance.
• Allocate manpower and fleet resources on the ground to maximize capacity using operational excellence models.
• Implement DC layouts and process enhancements alongside 3PL partners to increase throughput and minimize handling times.
• Exhibit strong documentation capabilities by creating process and training materials.
• Develop SLAs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering feature usage, bug reporting, and FAQs for system issues.
• Document new functional requirements to support enhancements of core systems as necessary.
• Regularly update training content to keep it current and effective.
• Ensure adherence to proper operational procedures and Warehouse Management System (WMS) postings to prevent transaction mismatches.
• Investigate and analyze system transactions and inventory entries to guarantee accuracy.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, regulatory policies, and manage operational risk controls.
• Facilitate seamless communication flow across relevant stakeholders and teams.
• Maintain daily engagement with 3PL providers as well as regional and central operational teams.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in dynamic DC environments, preferably within 3PL, e-commerce, or quick commerce sectors.
• 2 to 3 years’ hands-on experience working with major Warehouse Management Systems such as Manhattan, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalents.
• Highly organized and driven by processes; familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies or 5S principles strongly preferred.
• Analytical proficiency demonstrated through advanced skills in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Data Studio, and Tableau.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with a systematic, process-oriented approach.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging multiple stakeholders clearly and professionally.
