Special Agent with Engineering Expertise

Job Overview

This role is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze and offers an opportunity to transition your engineering expertise into a dynamic career in federal law enforcement. As a special agent, you will utilize your analytical and problem-solving skills to address national security concerns by investigating violent crimes, cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and other evolving challenges.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into potential violations of federal laws involving public safety and cybersecurity threats.
• Apply sound judgment, creativity, and flexibility to meet complex investigative requirements.
• Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with various law enforcement entities at federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
• Maintain necessary physical fitness standards to perform law enforcement duties effectively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance is required.
• Willingness to undertake travel as part of job duties.
• Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in engineering or a closely related discipline, from an accredited U.S. institution.
• Submission of official college transcripts to verify educational credentials is necessary.

Engineering Background Applicability

Your experience with engineering concepts such as JavaScript, MATLAB, HTML, algorithms, deep learning, and machine learning equips you to interpret intricate data, identify patterns, and make insightful decisions. These qualities will translate into gathering evidence, developing investigative leads, and assuming ownership of critical aspects of investigations.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $93,749 to $133,200 annually, adjusted based on base pay, locality adjustments, and availability pay.
