Role Overview
We offer an engaging opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to advance their career within JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Investment Bank, specifically in the Macro Data Analytics team. This role involves working on both Python and AWS technologies to build reliable and scalable financial market solutions that support key business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement business logic and data transformations within distributed computing frameworks to develop curated data sets tailored to business requirements.
- Manage the entire software development lifecycle including gathering requirements, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Operate independently with strong self-drive to deliver projects successfully and exhibit a keen analytical mindset to identify data trends.
- Develop secure, high-quality code and troubleshoot technical issues while considering impacts on related systems.
- Utilize company-approved AI coding tools to enhance code quality, production speed, testing, and documentation, with output validation through peer reviews and automated processes.
- Apply knowledge of software development lifecycle tools and automation to increase development efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on software development experience emphasizing data pipeline solutions, supported by formal software engineering training or certification.
- Proficiency in Python and Spark or comparable frameworks like Flink or Beam.
- Experience with AWS services such as AWS Glue, Kinesis, and Redshift or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and enthusiasm for innovative solutions.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities across diverse groups.
- Continuous learning mindset and commitment to personal improvement.
- Competence with relational databases and SQL querying.
- Experience employing enterprise-approved AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and documentation while critically evaluating AI outputs.
- Awareness of responsible AI practices including data sensitivity, secure data handling, resiliency, and security standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of data governance topics including security, permissions, recovery, and monitoring.
- Adaptability to evolving project needs and technological changes.
- Prior exposure to fixed income, currencies, and commodities trading technology (FICC) environments.
- Familiarity with SecDB, Athena, or Quartz systems.
- Cloud certifications and prior data engineering experience.
- Experience in market trading environments specifically within currencies, rates, emerging markets, commodities, and options is highly advantageous.
