Job Overview

We are looking for a Shift Incharge to join our team at a leading Pharma API and Chemical company located in Dahej, Gujarat. This role involves managing shift production operations within the chemical and petrochemical industry, reporting directly to the Production Manager. The ideal candidate will have significant experience overseeing batch manufacturing and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee production during shifts to achieve targets related to safety, health & environment (SHE), quality, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), production output, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify any deviations in process performance, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective measures.
  • Coordinate emergency responses, liaising with health, safety, environmental teams, regulatory authorities, and emergency services as required.
  • Lead and inspire a team of multi-skilled technicians and operators to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work permits, and other operational guidelines.
  • Handle complex production challenges, troubleshoot operations issues, and make independent decisions during shifts.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Logistics departments.
  • Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and material resources to align with production and logistics schedules.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement measures to minimize operational risks.
  • Serve as the senior site authority during non-standard working hours and act as the primary contact for operational matters.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience (8–15 years) in batch process manufacturing, preferably in specialty chemicals or petrochemicals.
  • Proven track record in leading shift operations and supervising teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety, health, and environment (SHE) standards, OEE, permits-to-work, risk management, and emergency procedures.
  • Capability to make autonomous operational decisions during shifts.
  • Strong coordination skills with departments such as Maintenance, Quality, HSE, and Planning/Logistics.

Qualification & Location

Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering required. Position based in Dahej, Gujarat.
