About the Role
ABB is focused on helping industries become more efficient and sustainable, and this role contributes directly to that mission. Based onsite in Dubai, UAE, the position reports to the Service Sales Manager and supports the Electrification Services (ELSE) business.
Role Purpose
The role exists to back the sales team and customers throughout the proposal cycle by creating precise technical write-ups, competitive pricing inputs, and polished documentation for Standard (STD) and Configure-to-Order (CTO) offerings. It serves as a dependable technical partner that helps drive effective sales execution and a better customer experience.
Key Accountabilities
- Apply solid technical understanding of medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, protection relays, and related equipment.
- Offer technical and commercial advice across ABB’s electrification service portfolio.
- Support sales discussions, customer meetings, technical presentations, negotiations, and bid clarification activities with product, service, and application knowledge.
- Prepare and coordinate strong technical and commercial proposals that match customer needs, ABB standards, and business goals.
- Verify that proposals satisfy commercial, legal, technical, and pricing requirements while staying competitive.
- Build solution cost estimates, evaluate commercial feasibility, and contribute to bid/no-bid choices and risk reviews.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure offers are delivered accurately and on time.
- Provide sales support to shape customer-oriented service solutions that are practical and commercially sound.
- Manage customer communication and follow-ups to strengthen engagement and improve win rates for Life Cycle Management (LCM) services with key accounts.
- Study customer requirements and convert them into customized technical and commercial proposals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent professional qualification.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in solution tendering and proposal preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of MV/LV electrical distribution networks and switchgear applications.
- Exposure to digital solutions or Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Experience in advisory selling and Life Cycle Management (LCM) solutions.
- Familiarity with sales enablement tools and CRM systems.
- Understanding of market analysis and competitive positioning methods.
- Creative and strategic thinking with a readiness to explore new ideas and build strong customer relationships.
- Strong analytical ability and a problem-solving mindset.
- High ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering excellent work.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong networking and interpersonal communication skills.
