About Gimlet Labs
Gimlet is pioneering the first neocloud that integrates multiple silicon types for rapid and efficient AI inference. Given the increasing complexity of AI workloads and the emergence of various hardware architectures, merely increasing GPU numbers is insufficient. The key challenge is synchronizing diverse computing resources effectively.
Our platform smartly partitions and channels workloads across heterogeneous hardware, achieving major gains in performance and efficiency. Clients access production-ready APIs without needing to manage hardware specifics like selection, placement, or optimization.
We collaborate with foundational AI laboratories, major cloud providers, and AI-focused enterprises to support large-scale production deployments and to shape the future AI infrastructure layer.
Role Overview
We are recruiting a Senior Technical Recruiter to build core infrastructure teams vital to our company’s success. At Gimlet, every recruitment shapes our culture, standards, and future hiring quality. Being a Series A startup, we prioritize talent quality over quantity, focusing on forming top-tier engineering teams pioneering AI infrastructure advancements.
This role is specialized and focuses on recruiting hard-to-find profiles such as kernel, compiler, and low-level systems engineers. Candidates will partner closely with company founders and engineering leadership, leveraging deep domain knowledge and high ownership to attract exceptional technical talent within niche markets.
Recruitment here is seen as a strategic business function rather than a mere administrative process, and requires rigorous execution and technical insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with founders and engineering leads to define hiring criteria, develop tailored recruitment strategies, and engage candidates, fostering confidence in Gimlet's vision.
- Gain a thorough understanding of role requirements, devise precise sourcing and evaluation plans, and actively identify and connect with elite talent through targeted sourcing, networking, and market mapping.
- Establish and maintain strong candidate pipelines in specialized technical domains where talent is scarce. Manage efficient, high-impact interview processes alongside engineering teams.
- Advise hiring managers on market trends, candidate quality, and strategies to effectively close positions.
- Maintain a sense of urgency and accountability throughout the recruitment process without compromising quality standards.
- Continuously refine recruitment methods to enhance effectiveness, speed, and consistency.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Over 5 years of successful experience recruiting for highly specialized technical roles, specifically in kernel, compiler, or equivalent low-level systems engineering roles.
- Strong comprehension of systems engineering fundamentals with the capacity to critically evaluate technical candidate profiles.
- Proven expertise in engaging passive, exceptional candidates within competitive, niche markets.
- Excellent skills in managing stakeholders and partnering with senior technical leaders.
- Outstanding communication, organizational prowess, and execution capabilities.
- Self-driven and able to perform effectively within a dynamic, ambiguous startup environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for technology, relationship building, and team growth.
- Commitment to maintaining high talent density and quality within teams.
- Comfortable navigating uncertainty and motivated to shape a company’s development, not just support it.
- Experience recruiting for AI infrastructure, distributed systems, or high-performance computing domains.
- Background in fast-growing startups or highly technical organizations.
- Experience developing or scaling recruitment frameworks and processes.
- Established network among systems, compiler, or related low-level engineering communities.
Why Join Gimlet Now?
Gimlet is early in its journey, offering a unique opportunity to impact AI infrastructure beyond simply expanding compute resources — focusing on integrating varied compute assets effectively. Early team members enjoy significant ownership, working alongside skilled colleagues and contributing to both product and organizational growth over time.
We seek individuals excited by multidisciplinary challenges, who take accountability for critical projects and are eager to influence the company's long-term trajectory.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $180,000 to $240,000 annually.
