Senior Solution Delivery Architect - Windows

Overview

The Senior Solution Delivery Architect specializing in Windows is responsible for maintaining the stability, integrity, and efficient performance of IT systems critical to organizational functions and client operations. This role involves oversight of operating systems management, infrastructure improvement, and migration activities, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution to enhance system benefits. The position is based primarily in Chennai and Bangalore, with Pune and Hyderabad locations considered for exceptional candidates. Shifts start around 1:30 PM IST, with candidates expected to be flexible for any shift timings.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support Windows-based physical and virtual servers, including implementing high availability and business-critical computing solutions, utilizing Microsoft Clustering and DFS.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of server hardware components like blades, enclosures, and physical servers.
• Collaborate with IT teams to optimize infrastructure performance and security.
• Apply Windows OS updates and manage Active Directory changes.
• Design, document, and maintain Windows and VMware-based systems.
• Lead planning and execution of IT infrastructure migration waves, coordinating and tracking progress while addressing issues and escalations.
• Partner with application owners and infrastructure managers for migration preparations and activities.
• Provide after-hours and weekend support for migration execution and issue escalation.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, VBS, Python, or Bash to improve operational efficiency.
• Manage VMware ESXi host and vCenter installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance, including resource allocation decisions.
• Execute P2V and V2V migrations and datacenter consolidations.
• Configure disaster recovery solutions including Zerto, vCloud Director, VMware SRM, and participate in disaster recovery planning and drills.
• Understand and apply knowledge of network protocols, storage technologies (RAID, SAN, NAS), and advanced network configurations within virtual environments.
• Conduct vulnerability research, provide documentation, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop systems management guidelines, focusing on process and efficiency improvements.
• Continuously monitor and tune systems to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks or issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with similar experience, or equivalent work history.
• Extensive hands-on experience (8+ years) administering Windows operating systems.
• Strong practical experience administering VMware environments (4+ years).
• Substantial experience with Linux administration (4+ years), preferably RHEL or similar.
• Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects involving resource management, priorities, and timelines.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team-oriented approach, dedicated to achieving collective goals.
• Experience automating system configuration through scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash) or DevOps tools like Chef or Puppet.
• Ability to mentor and guide technical operations staff in relevant technologies.
• Familiarity with competitive business and technical landscapes is advantageous.
• ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
• Preferred certifications include MCITP, MCSE, MCSA, MCP, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), and Red Hat Certified Engineer.
• Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies enhances candidate suitability.
