Senior Project Manager

Overview

A seasoned Senior Project Manager with over 20 years of experience is sought to join a Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh within the Infrastructure Division. This role focuses on civil engineering and transportation projects such as roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban settings. The incumbent will oversee entire project delivery, assist the Site Team, promote teamwork, provide technical guidance, and ensure client objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Director in project management activities.
• Evaluate the adequacy of designs and information, identifying any unresolved or conflicting design issues.
• Coordinate with discipline managers and site leaders to facilitate clear communication on project matters.
• Establish and enforce procedures for planning, supervising construction work, and controlling costs.
• Review and approve contractor-submitted technical documentation for client acceptance.
• Supervise overall project progress and resource utilization, initiating corrective measures when necessary.
• Ensure project outputs meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations at all stages.
• Manage relationships with all project stakeholders and adapt engagement strategies accordingly.
• Implement change control and configuration management protocols.
• Report project status through highlight reports and end-stage assessments via established channels.
• Maintain awareness of inter-project dependencies and their potential impacts.
• Assist with resolving technical challenges throughout the project life cycle.
• Take initiative in evaluating project management processes, exchange knowledge, identify improvements, and offer guidance to enhance workflows.
• Utilize analytical, project management, and technical writing abilities effectively at the task level.
• Apply relevant technical and quality standards rigorously.
• Identify and secure necessary support and expertise for planning and controlling project activities.
• Perform any additional duties as required by the client or project demands.

Candidate Profile

• Master's degree preferred in civil engineering, construction engineering, engineering management, or a related discipline.
• Membership of a recognized chartered institution is advantageous.
• Possess Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
• More than 20 years of overall experience with a minimum of 15 years in project management roles.
• Demonstrated track record managing complex construction projects as a consultant; exclusive contractor experience is not considered.
• Experience in at least one or more road infrastructure projects is mandatory.
• High proficiency in English with basic Arabic knowledge considered a plus.
• Excellent report writing, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, independence, flexibility, and technical accuracy skills.
• Willingness and ability to thrive in a multinational work environment.
• For non-Saudi candidates, a transferable Iqama is required.
• Must be based in Riyadh with valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership.
