Role overview
This opportunity is presented on behalf of a partner company that handles the application review and next steps. The employer is seeking a Security Analyst in Germany.
You will work at the crossroads of cybersecurity operations and global security research, reviewing vulnerability submissions from a large, active ethical hacker community. In this role, you will serve as the link between independent security researchers and client security teams, making sure reported issues are accurate, practical, and prioritized correctly. The position blends deep technical analysis with incident handling, clear communication, and community interaction. You will help evaluate weaknesses, support remediation, and contribute to stronger security defenses for organizations. The work environment is fast-moving and high-volume, offering constant exposure to offensive and defensive security practices. You will also guide junior analysts and help improve internal workflows and processes.
Accountabilities
- Examine incoming vulnerability submissions, confirm whether they are distinct and relevant, and determine if they can be acted on by clients
- Carry out technical investigation, validate proof-of-concept activity, and judge the severity of reported security issues
- Use CVSS methodology to score vulnerabilities and support prioritization decisions
- Serve as a main contact for escalations, incident triage, and communication with researchers
- Give customers and internal teams practical remediation advice and concise technical feedback
- Test and verify security findings across web, mobile, system, and network environments
- Monitor current threats, malware developments, and evolving attack methods
- Support and mentor junior teammates while sharing knowledge across the group
- Work closely with customer success teams to ensure security findings translate into customer value
- Identify risks early, organize your workload effectively, and address critical issues within required timelines
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in penetration testing, security testing, or vulnerability assessment
- Good understanding of ethical hacking concepts and the bug bounty landscape
- Strong familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and typical web application weaknesses
- Practical experience using Mac, Windows, and Linux systems
- Ability to research issues independently, troubleshoot effectively, and solve difficult technical problems
- Sharp analytical skills with strong attention to detail and sound risk judgment
- Comfort working under pressure or in incident-led settings, with effective prioritization
- Working knowledge of CVSS scoring and vulnerability severity evaluation
- Clear interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics simply
- Fluency in English; Dutch is considered an advantage
- Preferred qualifications include CEH, OSCP, OSWE, or similar certifications, and/or an active bug bounty profile
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational support arrangement when needed
