Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager of SG Clean & Renewables Scheduling, the Scheduler, Clean Products is responsible for managing operations related to light and middle distillates within the Commercial Scheduling team in Asia. This role supports business strategies by coordinating and optimizing the movement of clean products end-to-end, reducing costs and risks while ensuring timely and accurate deliveries along the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee waterborne cargo shipments of clean products such as Gasoil, Jet fuel, and Gasoline, ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements.
- Handle complete cargo execution including nominations, shipment planning, minimizing demurrage risks, documentation flow, and tracking payment milestones.
- Collaborate with traders to optimize schedules that enhance operational efficiency, reduce avoidable costs, and manage risks impacting deal results.
- Provide operational support related to tankage activities by coordinating closely with terminal operators and service providers.
- Maintain smooth communication with internal teams and external parties like traders, terminals, inspectors, surveyors, vessel operators, and counterparties to facilitate cargo movement.
- Contribute to global inventory management by preparing accurate weekly and monthly inventory forecasts.
- Ensure punctual and precise entry of cargo nominations, ticketing details, and operational data into SAP and other related systems while maintaining high-quality data standards.
- Identify and enact improvements in scheduling and data processing workflows to boost accuracy and efficiency.
- Submit nominations on time using Navarik, Mainstay, and other third-party platforms.
- Comply with company policies on records management, import/export regulations, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Independently resolve daily scheduling and execution challenges, escalating significant commercial, contractual, or safety issues as needed.
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships with industry peers, service providers, and internal departments.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree qualification, ideally in Chemical Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience managing waterborne cargo scheduling for clean products like Gasoil and Jet fuel in the Asia Pacific area.
- Solid understanding of clean products logistics, operations, market dynamics, product quality, and volumetric performance factors.
- Knowledge of cargo execution controls, contract terms, inspection practices, and loss prevention protocols.
- Proficiency with advanced spreadsheet use and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders about commercial and operational topics.
- A results-driven mindset, exercising sound judgment, decisiveness, and ability to function independently under pressure including outside normal working hours.
- Team-oriented with the ability to thrive in a close-knit, deadline-driven environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and analytical aptitude for cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced global setting.
Preferred Attributes
- Familiarity with tankage operations and terminal management.
- Basic experience with SAP S4 system.
