Role Overview

We invite applications for an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Fellow to engage in a multidisciplinary project aimed at improving restoration strategies for essential shellfish species. Shellfish restoration plays a vital role in rebuilding marine ecosystems by enhancing water purity, biodiversity, and coastal stability. Since restoration outcomes fluctuate due to varied species traits, habitat needs, and environmental challenges, this role involves developing integrated models to predict and assess restoration success across species.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and refine quantitative models to determine the effectiveness of shellfish restoration efforts across species.
  • Analyze how distinct biological characteristics impact restoration achievements.
  • Simulate restoration scenarios considering environmental changes.
  • Work closely with ecologists, marine scientists, resource managers, and stakeholders to translate research into practical applications.
  • Disseminate research through high-impact international journals and prepare comprehensive reports and outreach materials.

Candidate Profile

  • Doctorate in ecology, marine science, environmental science, computer science, applied mathematics, quantitative biology, statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven quantitative ecological modelling expertise.
  • Strong computational proficiency in languages such as R or Python.
  • A publication track record commensurate with career level.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication capabilities.

Additional Information
