Position Overview
The role of Relationship Manager – NRI at IDFC FIRST Bank within the Retail Banking segment involves delivering customized financial solutions to Non-Resident Indian (NRI) clients. The focus is on enhancing client value by managing relationships deeply, providing strategic product offerings, and ensuring excellent service. Collaboration with product and operations teams is key to boosting customer acquisition, engagement, and retention while handling new-to-bank (NTB) NRI accounts for the assigned branch. This role supports the bank’s branch banking objectives.
Core Duties
- Expand the liabilities portfolio by growing balances of current NRI customers, aiming to increase profitability through enhanced wallet share.
- Keep track of the inflows and outflows in assigned NRI accounts and monitor visits by NRI clients to India proactively.
- Engage customers regularly through communication channels like emails and calls, sharing updates on interest rates, forex rates, and pertinent product offerings.
- Develop new leads for sales by leveraging referrals from existing clients, NRI associations, notable stockbrokers, and expatriates working in shipping sectors.
- Promote customer engagement by cross-selling investment (life insurance, general insurance, mutual funds, PMS) and non-investment products (foreign exchange, remittance services) to both new and existing clientele.
Additional Responsibilities
- Suggest enhancements to service processes to improve efficiency and quality network-wide at branches.
- Exhibit strong skills in sales planning and devise marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Stay informed about the banking sector, FEMA regulations impacting NRIs, customer behavior in the NRI segment, and financial market trends.
- Collaborate actively with campaign data provided by the central team for better campaign outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience
- Graduation in any discipline through full-time education is required.
- Preference given to candidates with MBA or PGDM degrees.
- A minimum of 3 to 4 years’ relevant experience in branch banking is essential.
Skills and Personal Qualities
- Demonstrated success in relationship management and fostering customer engagement.
- Comprehensive understanding of NRI banking products and regulations including FEMA guidelines.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively through negotiation and conflict resolution tactics.
