Job Overview

As Project Manager, you will plan and oversee photovoltaic solar projects ranging from 1 MWac to over 100 MWac. You may handle individual projects or manage multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity. Collaboration with internal teams—business development, project development, engineering, finance, legal, and site managers—is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all commercial aspects of projects, managing multiple contract types such as solar EPC, substations, equipment procurement, and interconnection agreements.
Participate in contract negotiations with support from internal departments and management.
Track and report on project scope, schedules, budgets, installation rates, and risk factors alongside project controls teams.
Conduct scope and change management as needed.
Monitor and control project costs to maintain financial objectives.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and communities.
Manage all project communications and reporting structures.
Coordinate with Environment, Health, Safety, and Security teams and contractors to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Utilize IT platforms such as Procore, Box, and Mercatus to support project workflows.
Evaluate and suggest improvements for current project management practices.
Supervise key project personnel (Project Engineer, Sourcing Manager, Site Manager) alongside their functional managers regarding project efforts.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2 to 5 years of experience in project or construction management.
PMP certification preferred.
Solar project experience is advantageous; strong interest in solar energy is essential.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project); experience with Procore is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively independently and in teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Customer service orientation with active listening skills.
Knowledge of standardized project management processes, engineering design, procurement, and construction practices.
Familiarity with the US renewable energy market and design-build projects is beneficial.
