Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Programme Planner to join our expanding team based in Western Australia. This role involves working within complex infrastructure and construction settings, delivering exceptional planning and project controls support to ensure project success. Successful candidates will also receive a sign-on bonus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project work breakdown structures and create programmes to meet defined project objectives.
  • Ensure comprehensive inclusion of all scope activities within programmes, logically linked to enable critical path analysis.
  • Perform resource and cost loading on project schedules.
  • Conduct audits and quality reviews of programmes prepared by consultants and contractors to confirm alignment with project goals and deadlines.
  • Create short-term lookahead programmes and work schedules to facilitate proactive management of the programme.
  • Monitor project progress and maintain detailed records against established programmes.
  • Identify and assess schedule risks, issue early warnings, and support integration of these risks into project risk registers.
  • Formulate appropriate schedule contingencies and suppression strategies.
  • Communicate critical milestones, potential critical path issues, and overall programme implications to project teams and senior management.
  • Recognize mitigation opportunities and contribute to the project’s critical issues log.
  • Document schedule delays and coordinate with contract management teams for notices and impact assessments when necessary.
  • Prepare management reporting including exception reports, resource and expenditure profiles, updates on programme status, and presentation materials.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree holder in Engineering or an associated field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing project plans and programmes within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.
  • A strong grasp of engineering workflows, procurement procedures, logistics, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency with planning tools including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
  • Capability in building comprehensive programmes from preliminary stages through construction completion.
  • Confidence in evaluating programme logic, activity sequencing, time durations, and critical path elements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach with a track record of independent effective delivery.
  • Excellent written and oral communication competencies.
