Job description

Role Overview

The Planning team plays a crucial role in the company's operations by delivering an efficient planning framework utilizing both medium- and short-term tools to optimise customer service. As a Production Planner within this team, you will collaborate closely with the Planning Manager and colleagues to devise and execute production schedules that fulfil customer demands while optimising resource use, lowering costs, and ensuring timely product deliveries.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and update production schedules for all manufacturing lines, factoring in customer demand, stock levels, capacity limits, and lead times.
  • Work collaboratively with teams from production, procurement, logistics, and sales to align production plans and allocate resources effectively.
  • Track production progress, detect potential bottlenecks early, and communicate proactively with stakeholders to resolve issues and reduce risks.
  • Enhance production plans continuously to boost efficiency, minimise waste, and increase throughput, while upholding product quality and safety.
  • Maintain precise and timely production metrics including inventory, yield, and costs to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and execute backup plans for disruptions such as equipment failures, material shortages, or labour constraints.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and best practices in production planning and supply chain management to drive innovation and process advancements.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, adaptable to evolving situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant production planning software tools.
  • Knowledgeable in lean manufacturing, production scheduling, and supply chain management principles.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
