Role Purpose
The Production Operator will perform diverse assembly tasks on electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical products or sub-assemblies. Responsibilities include setting up and operating automatic or semi-automatic machinery and additional tasks such as labeling and inclusion of data sheets with products. All work follows strict written instructions in English.
Key Duties
- Ensure adherence to corporate and divisional policies and procedures
- Assemble, inspect, repair, and test products using detailed written guidelines
- Operate various manufacturing machines reading and interpreting instructions properly
- Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment according to protocol
- Properly dispose of hazardous waste materials in designated areas
- Troubleshoot issues of limited complexity and provide routine recommendations
- Train peers when necessary and maintain up-to-date job certifications
- Complete daily tasks within set schedules under supervisory guidance
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Education and Qualifications
- Completion of Leaving Certificate or successful pass in Abbott's selected Aptitude Test
- Prior relevant experience is advantageous but not mandatory; combination of education and work experience may also be considered
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Energetic and enthusiastic with a capacity for quick team assimilation
- Demonstrated adaptability and innovation in work approach
- Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and troubleshoot standard procedures
